The upper James River near Charlottesville,VA has the clearest water around. You are able to see bass, and other small freshwater fish beneath you. Off to the sides you might spot a deer or two grabbing a bite to eat. The only sounds are that of nature. Water rushing over large boulders, birds call from paddling.net
