San Onofre Surf Beach is located south of San Clemente and North of Camp Pendleton Marine base, about an hour north of San Diego and at the far south end of Orange County. This area was famous during the Nixon years as the Western White House. In fact Nixon had a role in getting this area turned in from paddling.net

- San Onofre State Beach features 3.5 miles of sandy beaches with six access trails cut into the bluff above. The campground is along Old Highway 101 adjacent to the sandstone bluffs.
